Robert J. Horsley, 88, passed peacefully at home, in Sun City West, on January 4th, 2019. Robert was born on August 11th, 1930, in Buffalo, New York. Bob was proud to serve his country in the both the Army & National Guard, attaining the rank of Sargeant. An interest in electronics led him to a successful part-time repair business where he earned many advanced certifications and diplomas. He was an excellent craftsman and very talented at drawing and painting. He was a career Inspector with Con-Rail until his retirement in 1992. Upon retiring, he relocated west to Arizona to be closer to his son Phil & family. It was there that he met his beloved Karen (Kust) and they were happily married on August 12th of 2000, They then began a new chapter of traveling, socializing with many new friends and enjoying life to the fullest over the years.
His cherished titles of “Grandpa Bob” and later “Great Grandpa” allowed him to love, teach and entertain two generations of young ones. He will always be remembered for his kindness, generosity, artistic talents & quick wit.
Robert is preceded in death by his first wife Florence and his sisters Sally, Viola (Muny) and Geraldine. Robert is survived by his loving wife Karen, son Phil (Kathy) , grandchildren Phil Horsley Jr.
(Janelle). and Kelly Peugnet (Austin), and great grandchildren Aubrey, Philip, Kadence, Robert, and Hannah.
A celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 AM Friday January 18th, 2019 Elk’s Lodge, 10760 W Union Hills Drive, Sun City AZ.
