Irma Regehr Gawboy

May 23rd, 1930 – September 6th, 2019

Irma Regehr Gawboy, 89, passed peacefully away Friday, September 6, 2019 in Surprise, Arizona.  Irma was born to Maria Loewen and Jacob Regehr on May 23rd, 1930 in Rosthern, Saskatchewan.

She was preceded in death by her former husband Robert Gawboy, Jr, and daughter Stephanie Gawboy. 

Irma is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Barton and Jody Gawboy, daughter April Gawboy, and son and daughter-in-law Bradley and DeAnn Gawboy.   She is also survived by her grandchildren: Terra Villa, Robert D. Gawboy, Chelsea A. (Gawboy) Oko, Allison M. (Gawboy) Michel, Zachary D. Gawboy, Sarah Hailey Gawboy, S. Hunter Gawboy, Clayton Holman, Ben Holman, RJ Holman, and Jacqueline Holman; and great granddaughter, Lily A.M. Michel.  And also her personal assistant, Linda Helwig, with which she had a strong bond and appreciation for all the help she provided Irma in her later years.

Irma worked and retired as a social worker for Hennepin County, MN, while living in New Hope and Brooklyn Center, MN.  She then moved to Sun City West, Arizona, where she continued her pursuit of home improvement projects, creative writing, and was an advocate for those suffering Restless Legs Syndrome and was an active proponent for her varied interests.  She was also active in her support group for those with Multi Chemical Sensitivities.  She was a continuous learner. 

The family thanks Wings of Hope and Arizona Adult Care Home for their compassionate hospice care. 

She will be greatly missed by family and friends.  Per her wishes, no memorial services will be held.  Condolences may be expressed at
