James “Jim” Raymond Riggs, 81, of Sun City West, AZ passed away on February 16, 2019 at Banner Del Web Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family. Jim was born on August 21, 1937 to Mack and Bessie Faye Riggs in Plattsmouth, NE.
Jim joined the United States Marine Corp in December of 1954. He served his country honorably, completing two tours in Vietnam during the Vietnam war as well as being part of President Kennedy’s ceremonial guard in Washington D.C. On July 15, 1961, Jim married Kay George, who he affectionately referred to as “my baby” in Glen Ullin, ND, and together they raised three children, Veronica, Mark, and Todd. Jim’s Family and the United States Marine Corp were the true loves of his life. He was an avid fan of car racing and also enjoyed playing pool, bowling, or playing a game of cards with his boys. Jim loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them whenever he could. His vivid story telling, his strength of spirit, and the integrity with which he lived his life will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved Jim.
Jim will be forever loved and missed by the love of his life and wife of 57 years, Kay, his children and their spouses, 11 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren; his Siblings, Don Riggs, Ron(Nancy) Riggs, Martha Jean Hedrick, and Carolyn(Kurt) Kaspryski, 11 and many nieces and nephews.
Jim was welcomed into eternity by his parents, brother Robert, Sisters Louise and Gloria Lee, Brother in law, Gordy, Sister in law, Betty, and great grandson, Landon.
