Lorraine Lillian Sechter 84, known recently by friends and family as Lori Sechter, passed away peacefully Monday, September 23, 2019 in Surprise, Arizona. Lori was born to Stanley J. Klaczynski and Lillian S. Zarzecki on April 23,1935 in Chicago, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband Douglas Andrew Sechter also of Chicago, Illinois.
Lori worked as the school secretary for St. Hubert’s school in Hoffman Estates, Illinois and retired from Dresser Industries in Bloomingdale, Illinois where she supported the sales team as their Office Manager. She then moved to Sun City West, Arizona with her husband Doug. She was active in many clubs and charities including the Sun City West Theater and The Sun City West Women’s Club where she served as both Social Manager and President. In her final years she lived at The Madison in Sun City West where she loved playing bridge, reading books and taking up adult pencil coloring. In her final year, she lived at Fellowship Square in Surprise, Arizona. She lived a full and wonderful life always dressed to the nines and with a beautiful heart and passion for people.
Lori is survived by her sons Douglas Andrew Sechter Jr., William Joseph Sechter, Thomas Michael Sechter and her Grandchildren: Brendan Sechter, Genevieve Sechter, Geoffrey Sechter and Estelle (Veronica) Cherry and her Great-Grandchildren Ren Sechter, Ryou Sechter and Venus McArthur.
A memorial service will be held October 18, 2019 at 1:30pm at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona located at 23029 Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85024. In lieu of any flowers, donations may be made in Lori’s name to Go Red for Women, which is the American Heart Association’s national movement to end heart disease and stroke in women.
She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
