On August 24, 2019, our loving Father welcomed into Heaven His precious daughter Nanette Elizabeth Burnett. Netty fought a courageous battle with cancer. She was a beautiful example of grace and dignity, and she inspired all that knew her. Her sense of humor will never be forgotten. She was a loving wife to husband Howard, and a devoted mother to her cherished children, Elizabeth, Howard Jr, and Michael. She graduated from Hunter College earning her bachelor’s degree in education, and went on to earning her Master’s degree from Adelphi University. She loved her students and left an indelible mark on them. After moving to Arizona in 2006 from Brooklyn, NY where she had been a school teacher for 28 years, she was involved with all of her children’s activities and loved her days as PTA President. She brightened the lives of many people with her positive attitude, and her kind words and inspiration helped many lives that she touched who were also facing the battle she was. Netty is survived by her loving husband Howard, Her children Elizabeth Marie, Howard James Jr., and Michael David, her brothers Gary and Kenneth and sisters Bernice, and Linda.
Her faith was her foundation and she never faltered, not one step along the way. Her legacy of love will live on in the hearts of all that knew her.
Netty, we miss you to the moon and back.
