Mrs. Peggy Joyce McFarland Bennett was the loving daughter of the late David and Hermina McFarland. She was born in Hartsville, South Carolina on October 31, 1934 and was the second eldest of seven children born to their union. Peggy accepted Jesus Christ at an early age, was baptized and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Society Hill, South Carolina. She attended the public schools of Darlington County and graduated with honors from Butler High School, class of 1951. She attended Livingstone College, in Salisbury, North Carolina.
Survivors are; one son, Stanley Bennett of Buckeye, AZ, four daughters, Audrey Johnson of Surprise, AZ, Wanda Dobbins of Lithonia, Georgia, Joyce Willis of Bossier, Louisiana, and Sylvia Bennett Smith of Surprise, AZ. She was beloved by 12 grandchildren and 7 great grand-children. She has gone on to meet her two sons with Lord, who passed, Harold, Jr. and Michael Bennett.
Mother Peggy Bennett was saved and filled with the Holy Spirit while she was a member of House of God, Saints in Christ Holiness Church in Levittown, Pennsylvania in the year of 1962. She continued there until her husband, Harold Bennett, returned home from his military assignment. After a few years, her husband was reassigned to Scott Air Force Base and they became a member of Church of God in Christ. Her husband, Harold, was called and ordained to the ministry. They were later transferred to Canada where she and her husband started a church, Church of God in Christ, on the military installations for three years. After that, they were reassigned to Richard Gebaur Air Force Base in Grandview, Missouri, where they founded and organized Grace Temple Assembly, Church of God in Christ.
Mother Peggy Bennett felt the calling of God upon her life. She was a mother, a teacher, a prayer service leader and a prayer warrior. She was a true woman of God. She always taught her children and was an example in her life.
