Allan W. Levy
October 19, 1926 – December 21, 2020 (age 94)
Allan William Levy passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, December 21st, 2020, in Sun City West, Arizona (SCW) due to complications from diabetes. He was 94.
Growing up in St. Louis, Allan joined the USO during WW2 with a trick shot table tennis act (he was the1943 US Open Junior Table Tennis Champion) and while serving in the USO he met his future wife, Betty, who performed as an acrobatic dancer performing gymnastics with big bands like Ozzie Nelson’s Orchestra.
After the war they married and started a family in the Kansas City, MO metro area. He owned a stereo equipment and record distributorship, and Betty ran her own tax preparation service after working for H&R block for many years.
In 1987 they retired and moved to Sun City West, enjoying everything the community had to offer, including tennis, golf and socializing with friends.
They also traveled extensively, visiting the Middle East, Russia, Hong Kong and Alaska.
Betty passed away in December 1999 due to complications from Hepatitis C.
After Betty’s death Allan started playing poker at Club 52 in SCW where he made many good friends. They travelled to Laughlin and Las Vegas to play in poker and blackjack tournaments.
He is survived by his son, Craig Levy and daughter-in-law Lisa and his son Bruce Levy and daughter-in-law Kristen. He is also survived by his two grandchildren Mason Levy and Andie Levy.
No funeral service is planned, and no donations are requested.
Allan’s cremains will be added to the niche containing his wife Betty’s cremains at Camino Del Sol Mortuary in Sun City West, AZ.
