Charles Michael (Mike) Curran of Federal Way Washington, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2020 in Sun City West, Arizona. Mike was born on August 14, 1952 to Adrienne Bellon and Walter Curran. Mike was born at his grandfather’s home and business, “Casa Bellon”, in Oaxaca Mexico. Shortly after his birth, Adrienne and Walter returned to California with Mike and siblings Theresa and Darby. The family moved into their new home in Long Beach California. Mike attended and graduated from Woodrow Wilson high school, class of 1971. Over the years, Mike worked as a delivery truck driver in Long Beach CA, a maintenance man in Truckee CA, a trade craftsman building luxury yachts in Burien WA, and a sander/finisher at an aircraft component manufacturing company in Sumner WA. In early 2020, he retired and moved to Surprise AZ. Mike looked forward to enjoying the weather, playing golf, and attending spring training baseball games in Arizona . He was an avid Seahawks fan and enjoyed watching the games with friends and family and teasing rival 49er fans. Mike contracted diabetes in middle age and had to rely on insulin to manage the disease. The diabetes became harder to manage and more erratic in the last few years of his life. He succumbed to the disease as a result of the condition called Diabetic Ketoacidosis. Mike is survived by his beloved English Labrador Emma, his sister Theresa, brother Darby, sister-in-law Kathie, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
