On Saturday, May 9, 2020, Elaine Dailey, loving wife and mother of two, passed away at the age of 70 at her winter home in Surprise, Arizona. Elaine was born on March 19, 1950 in Jackson and was a 1968 graduate of Michigan Center High School. Elaine graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a degree in English and later earned her master’s from Spring Arbor University. Elaine was an educator for 24 years at Ackerson Lake High School, first as a teacher and then serving as principal during her final 10 years. Elaine loved Michigan history, reading, fishing, and singing in the church choir.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Alice Stone of Michigan Center, Robert and Doris Dailey of Jackson, and her oldest son, Andrew Dailey, of Holland.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Mark Dailey, also of Jackson, whom she was married to for nearly 50 years. Elaine is also survived by her son, Philip and Stephanie Dailey (Quentin, Parker, and Claire) of Phoenix; sister Carolyn and Cliff Janz (Matthew, Kathryn) of Michigan Center; brother David and Sue Stone (David, Jason) of Jackson; brother in-law George and Mary Dailey (Amy, Nicole and Tim) of Kissimmee, Florida; grandsons Hunter and Noah Dailey of Holland.
