Jeffrey John Chicvara

March 19, 1958 ~ July 15, 2020 (age 62)

Jeffrey John Chicvara passed away on Wednesday July 15th, 2020, in Sun City West, Arizona. He was born on March 19th, 1958 to the late George Frank Chicvara and Ruth Eileen Chicvara (Melsheimer) in Chicago, Illinois. Jeffrey graduated from Hubbard High School in 1976. He started his career in the grocery industry at Jewel Osco in Chicago before moving in 1986 to Carson City, Nevada where he worked at Raley’s. He later moved on and started a career with IBC where he worked for more than 20 years for Wonder Bread/Hostess, and was a member of the teamsters LOCAL 533. During this time, he also worked part time at Walmart for over 10 years. Jeff enjoyed traveling the county with his family, good food, golfing, bowling, Chicago sports, socializing over cold beer, and classic cinema and television “when entertainment was entertainment”. He was a trivia and gameshow fanatic, who watched Jeopardy religiously, and attended the Price is Right twice. Jeff had a way of making everyone laugh with his sarcastic and witty sense of humor. He always welcomed conversation with others and had a way of creating easy going conversation with everyone he met. He was never intimidated and never shied away from starting conversation with strangers despite his speech difficulties. Jeff was extremely diligent and worked endlessly to provide funds for his children’s college educations. Jeff was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis in 2009, and unfortunately in the years to come faced many medical adversities. Despite his physical ailments, he didn’t let it get in the way of enjoying life. He is survived by his 3 children Andrew (Karson), Ryan, and Kelsey and their mother Eileen. Brothers George, Michael, Jerome, Fred, and sisters Marilyn, and Lisa; and many other loving family, friends, and his best pal/cat Gilligan. He was preceded in death by his Father George Frank Chicvara, his Mother Ruth Eileen Chicvara, and sister Laura Babiarz. Due to the current situation, there will not be any services at this time.
