Beloved husband and father, Leonard Rochwerger, of Sun City West, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2020.
Len was born to the late Abraham and Belle Rochwerger, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on February 8, 1942 and graduated from UW-Whitewater in 1964 with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting. He spent his entire career working at Aldrich Chemical Company in Milwaukee, rising from junior accountant to Executive Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer of the company. He was a rare executive who embraced mindful leadership, always remembering that the heart of the company was its people.
He married Marlene Weigel on July 7, 1970, and they celebrated 50 years of marriage this month. They moved to Sun City West in 1997.
Len and Marlene shared a love of travel, and together they visited more than 110 countries. Len was always the trip’s photographer, and shared his pictures with family and friends with photo shows complete with captions and music.
He enjoyed art and theater, and was a 20-year volunteer for the Herberger Theater in Phoenix. Len was also an avid Wisconsin sports fan and the family enjoyed attending Milwaukee Brewer, Bucks and Admiral games together back in Wisconsin. He passed his love of the Green Bay Packers down to his daughter Dena.
Philanthropy was near and dear to Len’s heart, and in addition to his service with the theater, he worked with Sun City West’s free tax preparation service for more than 20 years; teaching classes and preparing and reviewing tax returns. He always listened, and was respectful and kind to everyone, and will be greatly missed. He was a man who made a difference in Sun City West.
Len is survived by his loving wife Marlene and his beautiful and caring daughter Dena Roché, and many special relatives and friends.
Due to Covid-19 services will be private.
