Robert L. Shipp, 84, died peacefully on February 5, 2020 in Sun City West, AZ. He was born on November 12th, 1935 to Delbert C. and Margerite I. Shipp in Paola, Kansas. Robert graduated from Manhattan High School in 1953 and was a graduate of Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Milling Technology.
He was a beloved husband to Daryl Lee (Hosier) Shipp, his high school sweetheart and happily married for 64 years. Robert worked as a grain mill plant manager for 42 years before retiring in 1997. He served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960. He was a past master of Masonic Lodge of St. Joseph, MO.
His love of adventure took him near and far. Trips to New York City, Washington DC and the Panama Canal were some of his favorites. He also enjoyed traveling in his RV with family and friends, stopping at every roadside marker to take in the history or natural beauty of our countryside. His love of learning brought pursuits of sailing at the lake, go-cart racing and tree-farm planting with his son-in-laws. Other favorite past times included golfing and reading.
Robert is survived by his wife, Daryl Lee (Hosier) Shipp and three daughters, Janet and Brian Vincent of Sedalia, MO, Patricia Shipp and fiance, Dan Peterson of Greensboro, NC, Linda Shipp and Chris Casebeer of Louisburg, KS; his grandchildren Mindy and Josh Leinbaugh of Spirit Lake, IA, Taylor and Mackenzie Vincent of Kansas City, MO, Billie Casebeer and Miles Casebeer, both of Louisburg, KS; his great grandchildren Simon Leinbaugh and Libby Leinbaugh, both of Spirt Lake, IA; his sister, Margery Whiteman of Mesa, AZ; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Margerite Shipp, and his twin daughters, Joanne and Suzanne Shipp.

A Celebration of Life will be held on February 17th, 2020 10:00 a.m. at Camino del Sol Funeral Chapel, located at 13738 W Camino del Sol Sun City West, AZ 85375
