Samuel “Sam” F Casazza, 81, passed away Friday, April 24, after a short battle with cancer. He passed peacefully and painlessly at home in the loving care of his wife, Joan, with the help of Banner Hospice. Sam retired in 1998 from Chrysler and United Auto Workers staff. He was a union member and president of local 1268 out of Belvidere, Illinois for many years. Sam loved his life in Sun City grand, fast cars, playing softball, and being the number one fan for his grandkids. He was loved and cherished by many.
Sam is survived by: his wife Joan, her three children, their spouses, and eight grandchildren; his three daughters, their spouses, and five grandchildren; his sister and brother-in-law; sister-in-law; brother-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his first wife, Marilyn, parents, two brothers, two sisters, and many other family members.
At this time, no services are planned due to the Covid virus restrictions.
