TAWNI KAY ESTES

August 9, 1990 – April 5, 2021

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved Tawni. Tawni Kay was born on August 9, 1990 in Fairbanks, Alaska and passed in peace on April 5, 2021 in Phoenix, Arizona. She graduated from Weatherford High School (Weatherford, TX) in 2008 and from Arizona State University (Tempe, AZ) in 2014. She worked as a certified pharmacy technician. After meeting at work, Tawni married Jameson Estes on November 4, 2018. Tawni was an amazing wife, dog mom, daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, and friend.

Tawni Kay was very talented and good at everything she attempted. During her childhood and in high school, she excelled at gymnastics and cheer. After high school, worked hard to obtain her bachelor’s degree and shine in her career. Tawni loved to travel not only to far off places like Germany with her father, Australia with her husband, cruising the Caribbean with her mother and sister but also to California, Las Vegas and her beloved Texas. Tawni was a gifted artist; she loved painting, drawing, and crafting. She also loved spending quiet days at home with her husband and taking her dogs on hikes. Tawni was quick with a smile, free with her laughter, and fiercely loved her family and friends, accepting all without any judgement.

Tawni was a wonderful woman that was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished. She is survived by her husband (Jameson) and their beloved golden retrievers (Ego and Hela); mother and sister (Stacy and Taryn Easley); father (Robert Easley); grandparents (Jim and Donita Roch); adored aunts, uncles and cousins; and countless treasured friends.

The family requests that gifts in memory of Tawni be designated for Novel Therapeutics and Advanced Diagnostics at Mayo Clinic. Memorials can be made online at https://philanthropy.mayoclinic.org/donateMC or mailed to Department of Development, Mayo Clinic, 200 First St. SW, Rochester, MN 55905.

Tawni, I was fortunate to have been in Alaska the day you were born. Two years later I still remember your Mum carrying you off the plane in Texas. I have been so blessed to be part of your too short life. I feel even more blessed that you wanted to be part of my life. Everyone that ever met you loved you. You will be forever missed, but never forgotten. We'll see you again someday. I know it. Rest in peace sweet girl.
