Ted J Sherman, 94, of Sun City West, AZ, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020. He was born in 1926 to the late Russell and Gladys Sherman of Ellensburg, WA. Ted enlisted in the U.S. Navy during World War II at the age of 17 where he served as an Aviation Radioman Petty Officer 3rd Class. Upon earning a bachelor’s degree from Washington State University in 1950, he worked as an electrical engineer for the Aluminum Company of America until his retirement in the early 1990s. Moving to Sun City West he and his wife enjoyed extensive travel as well as participating in many sports and activities. Ted also served as a proud member of the Sun City West Posse for over 15 years.
Ted Sherman is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Barbara King (Simboli) Sherman and they are survived by four children, Bruce (Gwen), Janet (Ralph) Heath, Jean (Hal) Broadhead and Ted (Christine) as well grandchildren Tony, Barbara, Allison, Sarah, Jonathan, Alex, Nicholas, Andrew, Benjamin, Bradley, Lucas and nine great grandchildren. Ted is also survived by his brother Allan Sherman along with family he cherished in the northwest.
There is no service or memorial planned at this time.
Interment will be at the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix.
