Vernon Leroy Worrell was born in Sioux City, Iowa, December 15, 1938. He graduated from East High School in 1957 and continued his education at Iowa State University (Ames, Iowa) graduating in 1963 with a degree in architecture. Vernon Leroy Worrell was born in Sioux City, Iowa, December 15, 1938. He graduated from East High School in 1957 and continued his education at Iowa State University (Ames, Iowa) graduating in 1963 with a degree in architecture. He began his career with The Durant Group, an architectural firm with offices in several states. Vern spent 36 years in the Wisconsin office and became a full partner. He was a member of the American Institute of Architects. He designed a wide variety of buildings with an emphasis on hospitals and educational facilities. He retired in 1999 and moved to Arizona where he resided until his death on February 15, 2021.

Vern married Judith Haitz in 1959. He is survived by his wife (Judy), two sons Mark (Barbara) of Washington and Kurt (Susan) of Colorado and three grandchildren Connor Worrell and Kathryn Worrell of Colorado and Morgan Worrell of Washington. He was proceeded in death by his parents Clifford and Viola Worrell.
