May 29, 1947 ~ October 28, 2020 (age 73)

Obituary

On Wednesday, October 28, 2020, William Brink, loving husband to Mary and father to Greg and Doug, passed away at the age of 73.  Bill was born in 1947 at the Naval Air Station in Alameda, California to William and Marian.  He grew up in San Leandro, and worked on the loading docks in Oakland as one of his first jobs as a teen. He later attended school at Chabot College and Wake Forest University where he earned his MBA.  Bill had a wonderful professional career, with many years at General Electric and Square D Company in Palatine, Illinois where he retired as CFO at the age of 50.  His early retirement allowed Bill to spend many wonderful years with his bride, Mary, whom he married in 1967.  They raised two loving sons, Greg and Doug, who live in Portland, Oregon and Indianapolis, Indiana.

Bill had a passion for many sports including basketball, volleyball, softball, and tennis.  However, his true love was golf which he played as often as possible while retired in the Phoenix area, and was known for hitting two "holes in one" in one round of 18 in 1998.  Bill and Mary enjoyed traveling the world in their retirement, with multiple trips to various parks in the United States, Canada, Antarctica, Europe, and Australia.  Bill loved his family deeply and will be sorely missed by all that knew him.

Bill was preceded in death by his father William, stepfather John Geary, and mother Marion Geary.  He is survived by his wife Mary, two boys Greg and Doug, grandchildren Cy, Cameron, Brandon, Nicole, and Kelsey, as well as his three brothers Mick, Tim, Jeff, and step siblings Mike, Mark, and Marsha Geary.

The family asks that you keep Bill in your thoughts and prayers, and remember the amazing man he was.
